All students who take lessons at Rivendell stables are encouraged to take a one-hour 
introductory Horsemanship class. New students are introduced to riding in this private
one-on-one lesson, with proper and safe care and handling of the horse emphasized.

Lessons are scheduled 7 days a week based on trainers' schedules. 

24-hour notice is appreciated to cancel a lesson.
 
Equipment needed for riding lessons:

We supply helmets for our students, all students are required to wear proper helmets while riding; however, many students feel that having their own helmet is a better option due to fit. Students should also have a proper boot for lessons. Preferably, these are standard leather paddock boots.  Optionally, many students that continue on with lessons feel more comfortable riding in half-chaps and breeches. Equipment can be purchased locally

You may call the barn, 616-897-8976, and leave a message for Lisa or you can contact her directly on her cell phone, 616-340-0346. She will have a few questions for you about your experience around horses and riding, and she will be able to place you with the instructor who should match
your abilities.
